The FINANCIAL — Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Georgia Dessislava Ivanova.
On the occasion of his re-appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Georgia handed to Mikheil Janelidze a congratulation letter by his Bulgarian counterpart, Daniel Mitov, according to MFA of Georgia.
Discussions focused on the close political co-operation between the two countries. The Bulgarian Embassy to Georgia will act as a contact point with NATO during the years from 2017 to 2019, and hence, the sides discussed the issues relating to future co-operation in this area.
The increasing potential of economic co-operation between Bulgaria and Georgia was also highlighted during the meeting. Special mention was made of the important transit role of the two countries and their participation in the development of the Asia-Europe transport corridor. At the end of the meeting the sides spoke about the importance of exchanging high-level visits.
