The FINANCIAL — At a meeting with the newly appointed ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, special note was taken of Germany’s leading role in implementing Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The new ambassador reaffirmed the support of the Federal Republic of Germany for Georgia and expressed the readiness to make maximum contribution towards further developing the relations between the two countries.
The newly-appointed ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia presented copies of her credentials to Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, according to MFA of Georgia.
Following the presentation ceremony, the sides held a bilateral meeting where they spoke about the friendly relations and cooperation in the areas of politics, trade and economy, education and culture. Mikheil Janelidze emphasized Germany’s leading role in implementing Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the importance of Germany’s active support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Special attention was paid to the need to complete in due time Georgia’s visa liberalization process with the EU, as well as to the issues relating to marking the establishment of Georgian-German friendship in 2017 and to Georgia’s participation in Frankfurt Book Fair 2018.
For her part, the German ambassador reaffirmed the increasing level of relations between Georgia and Germany and the great potential for deepening economic co-operation. She reaffirmed Germany’s support and expressed the readiness to make maximum contribution towards further developing the relations between the two countries.
