The FINANCIAL — On 23 July 2015, newly appointed Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia Giedrius Puodžiūnas presented copies of his credentials to Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Gigi Gigiadze.
At the meeting held after the ceremony Gigi Gigiadze congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment and wished him success in his future endeavours, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The Deputy Foreign Minister and the Ambassador focused on the existing close friendly and partner relations between the two countries. Gigi Gigiadze underlined that Lithuania is one of the most active and loyal supporters of Georgia and thanked the Ambassador for his Government’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. Giedrius Puodžiūnas, in turn, reaffirmed Lithuania’s readiness to render expert and practical assistance to Georgia in different spheres and to share its rich experience.
The Deputy Foreign Minister and the Ambassador focused on bilateral relations, upcoming high level visits and mapped out future co-operation plans.
Besides bilateral relations, talking points also included Russia’s destructive actions along the occupation line, general situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and current issues regarding Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
