The FINANCIAL — The trading volume in the Spanish Stock Exchange was €865.93 bn to the end of November, down 10% on the same period last year. In November the trading volume was €68.60 bn, a 40% decrease on the same month of 2010, which was extraordinarily active in terms of corporate transactions.
The number of trades to the end of November came in at 43 million, up 16% from the same period a year earlier. In November the number of trades came in at 3.3 million, down 26.2% on November 2010.
The trading volume on the ETF segment to November reached €3.19 bn, down 44.8% on the same period in 2010. In November the trading volume in this segment stood at €184 million, down 31.2% from the same period in 2010.The number of ETF trades to November reached 40,613, down 32.4% on the same period last year. In November the number of trades was 3,219, down 21.5% on the same period in 2010.In November trading on BME’s Derivatives Market, MEFF, came in at 5.6 million contracts, down 15.3% from the same period a year earlier. The number of contracts traded in the first eleven months of the year totaled 59.3 million.
Highlights for November include Futures on Stocks, with trading reaching 1.9 million contracts, up 29.8% on the same period in 2010, while the figure for the first eleven months totalled 24.2 million contracts, up 50.3% from the same period the previous year.The number of warrants admitted to trading to the end of November was 8,093. The trading volume in November on this market came in at €137.2 million, 7% up from the same period last year. The volume to the end of November came in at €1.55 bn, up 2.8% from the same period a year earlier.
The number of trades in November on the warrants and certificates market totalled 27,510, down 3.5% from November 2010.In the first eleven months the number of trades came in at 285,042, down 11.7% from the same period a year earlier.Corporate Debt trading in November was €376.82 bn, down 24.6% from the same period a year ago. The trading volume in the first eleven months of the year exceeded, for the first time, €5 trillion, up 64.2% from a year earlier.
New issues on BME’s Corporate Debt Market, AIAF, totalled €23.75 bn in November, up 90.1% from the previous year. The accumulated figure to the end of November totalled €234.83 bn, up 14.2% from the same period a year earlier.
The outstanding balance at the end of November was €867.50 bn, up 2.1% on the same period last year.
The trading volume on BME’s Public Debt market in November came in at €3.25 bn, which brings the total figure for the January-November period to €234.11 bn, down 65.8% on the year. The number of trades to the end of November totalled 10,837, up 7.5%.
