The FINANCIAL — On 22 March 2016, the delegation of Poland, headed by the MFA Secretary of State Jan Dziedziczak, visited Georgia. The delegation also included Member of the Polish Sejm, Head of the Poland-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group Malgorzata Gosiweska. An introductory meeting was held with Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze. The delegation held a working meeting with First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.
The sides underlined the historically warm and friendly relations developed between the governments and peoples of Georgia and the Republic of Poland. The need to enhance the parliamentary co-operation was underlined. The Polish side expressed its readiness to render assistance to Georgia in realisation of European and Euro-Atlantic aspiration. The sides underlined the role of “Tbilisi Conference” – a co-operation mechanism established by Poland, the first, inauguration meeting of which will be held during an official visit of Mikheil Janelidze to Poland. The importance of Poland’s support in terms of the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw was also underlined.
Besides the current issues of bilateral relations, the ongoing processes in Europe, Russia’s policy and the current situation in Georgia’s occupied territories were underlined, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Georgian side thanked Jan Dziedziczak for Poland’s strong support of Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and integration with the European and Euro-Atlantic structures.
