The FINANCIAL — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry completed his official visit to Georgia, according to MFA of Georgia.
The U.S. delegation left Georgia. Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze, First Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly took part in the official farewell ceremony at the Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli international airport.
The Georgian Foreign Minister assessed John Kerry’s visit as yet another clear demonstration of an strong support to Georgia by Washington. According to the Minister, the visit was successful and beneficial and enhanced the co-operation of Georgia with the strategic partners.
The U.S. Secretary of State visited Georgia on 6-7 July 2016. In the frames of the visit, the plenary session of the US-Georgia Strategic Partnership Charter was held. The Georgian Prime Minister and the U.S. Secretary of State signed the Memorandum on Deeper Defense and Security Partnership and the Memorandum of Understanding on Georgia-US cooperation in the field of education. The two sided also discussed the Growth Program, a new USAID initiative.
