The FINANCIAL — Three businessmen of Georgian origin (Bidzina Ivanishvili, Shalva Chigirinsky and Alexander Japaridze) are reported by Forbes magazine within the list of wealthiest people worldwide, BSPress reported.
According to Forbes magazine, Bidzina (Boris) Ivanishvili is the 149th among the world multi-millionaires. Wealth of Ivanishvili reaches $6,4 billion. He was the 167th last year, and his wealth reached $4,7 billion.
Forbes reports that Ivanishvili began building his empire in 1990 when set up Rossiysky Kredit Bank together with partner Vitaly Malkin. The shares have now been divided, with Ivanishvili getting two-thirds and Malkin one-third. The two share other assets with the same stockholding ratio.
Ivanishvili owns Unicor Group (real estate, agriculture, bank). Bidzina Ivanishvili got rid during last two years of the assets earned in 1990s in the privatization process. In particular, he sold Stoilensk mining enterprise to Vladimir Lisin and shares in Mikhailov mining enterprise and Tulachermet – to billionaires Alisher Usmanov and Vasili Anisimov. The businessman invested his income in the rapidly developing Russian stock exchange market.
Bidzina Ivanishvili is residing in the Chorvila village in Georgia, his native place, where he was born in 1956.
The wealth of the 58-years old businessman Shalva Chigirinsky makes $2,3 billion (524th under the Forbes rating). He was the 618th in 2007 with wealth of $1,6 billion.
Chigirinsky graduated from the Sechenov State Medical Institute in Moscow. In 1987 moved from the Soviet Union to Spain and later to Germany, starting a real estate business. In 1989, with German businessman Ivot Shtok, started S&T Group, a development company; later bought out his partner's share. From the mid-1990s, has been in Russia's 2 most lucrative businesses, oil and Moscow real estate. Shalva Chigirinsky co-owns Sibir Energy (oil) and Russian Land (development).
Alexander Japaridze is the 707th in the Forbes ratings. Wealth of the 52-years old businessman reaches $1,7 billion. He co-owns firm Eurasia Drilling Co., the largest independent oil-services outfit in Russia and listed in London last year.
Japaridze studied geology at an oil-and-gas university in Moscow. Sensing deep demand in post-Soviet Russia's deteriorating oil sector, set up an oil-services firm, PetroAlliance, in 1995. In 2003 sold PetroAlliance to oil-services giant Schlumberger. A year later, with Russian oil companies consolidating and shedding assets, teamed up with partners including former Halliburton managers to buy Lukoil's well-drilling business.

Oleg Deripaska, wealthiest person in Russia, is owner of the business empire Basic Element. He is the 9th in the Forbes ratings. Wealth of the 40-yaers old businessman makes $28 billion.
Forbes reports that number of multi-millionaires in the world was increased by 179 and made 1,125. The billionaires’ number exceeded 1,000 for the first time. The total wealth of them was increased by $900 billion since 2007 and made up to $4,4 trillion.
