The FINANCIAL — In February 2015, airberlin welcomed 1,820,528 passengers on board.
The number of passengers transported was thus 0.9 percent lower than in the corresponding month of the previous year. Over the past month, airberlin’s passengers traveled a total of 3.039 billion kilometers (RPK) on airberlin’s global flight route network, i.e. an increase of 2.9 percent over February 2014, according to airberlin.
In a currently agile market environment, the number of available seat kilometers (ASK) decreased by 0.6 percent to 3.592 billion in yearly comparison, whereas flight capacity utilization (RPK/ASK) increased by 2.9 percentage points to 84.6 percent.
For the first two months of 2015, airberlin thus increased capacity utilization by 0.9 percent to a total of 81.4 percent. The number of passengers traveling with airberlin, at 3,515,899 for January and February, was 2.4 percent lower than in the comparable period of the previous year.
From January to February 2015, the revenue passenger kilometers increased to 6.075 billion (previous year: 5.858 billion) and the available seat kilometers increased to 7.467 billion (previous year: 7.280 billion).
