2 mins read

With Sydney being the largest city in Australia, it is no surprise that there is an immense number of things to see and do. Listed below are a few activities you can partake in while you are visiting this bustling metropolis.

Tours by helicopter

Take to the skies in a chopper to see the absolute splendor of Sydney from above. There are quite a few companies that offer these types of tours with different routes to take, depending on what you want to see and how long you want to travel for. Most companies also offer a pickup and drop off service for you as well as complimentary pre-flight tea, coffee and water. The pilots will generally tell you about the city and answer any questions you may have. This is a truly breathtaking way to experience the city and the surrounding natural environments.

Blue Mountains tours

A few kilometers northwest of Sydney are the Blue Mountains which are part of the Great Dividing Range. There are plenty of tours running throughout the National Park and surrounding areas which range from guided hikes to river cruises, canyon climbs, trike tours and bus tours. The Three Sisters is a major natural landmark which is one of the most popular locations in the Blue Mountains. The tourist town of Katoomba is also a great place to visit with many art and handicraft stores throughout town, as well as festivals held there throughout the year.

Walking tours

The great thing about walking tours is that you don’t have to join a group if you don’t want to and you can create your own tours. You traverse the city and check out all the restaurants and bars the city has to offer. There are art galleries and museums throughout the city and depending on the time of year, you can attend a sporting match. For example, if you are into horse racing you could take a punt with some Golden Slipper betting at Rosehill Gardens, or you could attend an NRL match as part of your city tour. Of course, there are plenty of guided tours to go on if you want some deeper information about the city.
