The FINANCIAL — Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) told the Transport Ministry on July 5 morning that from Friday it will recall eight models, mainly those in the Lexus luxury line, to fix an engine problem.
"In Japan, the recall will cover about 91,000 cars — including Lexus LS600h, Lexus GS460 and Crown models — made between July 27, 2005, and Aug. 21, 2008," Nikkei.com informs.
The company says the engine may suddenly stop while the car is still running. No accidents have been reported, but 220 cases of trouble have been brought to the firm's attention.
