The FINANCIAL — Tribute Portfolio, part of Marriott International, Inc., on April 11 announced its arrival in Germany with the opening of Nordport Plaza, Hamburg-Airport, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.
Located minutes from the city’s international airport, the property marks yet another milestone for the indie brand as it continues to open up more choice for travelers in high-demand destinations across the continent.
“We are delighted to welcome Nordport Plaza, Hamburg-Airport as the first Tribute Portfolio property in Germany,” said John Licence, Vice President Premium and Select Brands Europe at Marriott International. “With its intriguing design and vibrant social spaces, the hotel epitomises the qualities we look for in an exceptional independent hotel.”
As with all Tribute Portfolio properties, Nordport Plaza, Hamburg-Airport, features unique touches that set it apart from the ordinary. Inspired by its location, an elegant aviation theme flows through the hotel, reflecting the spirit of travel. Furniture classics from the sixties and retro black and white aviation prints populate its public areas and guest rooms, while quirky flourishes such as 60’s style Business Class food trays in the hotel’s Restaurant Blue inject a sense of originality that will appeal to the modern maverick traveller, according to Marriott.
Extending to 10 floors high, the oval-shaped main building has a striking glass façade and houses 188 contemporary guest rooms and suites with upscale amenities. The glamourous rooftop Senator Lounge & Sky Bar offers a small-plates menu plus cocktails and features seating inside and out to enjoy sweeping panoramic views out over the airport to Hamburg’s magnificent Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Additionally, the bustling lobby provides an informal all-day menu and a 24-hour deli option for those on the go. A wellness centre offers guests an array of experiences to recharge, including a fully-equipped gym, sauna, therapy rooms and a relaxation area with an outdoor terrace.
Curving alongside, and connected by a glass bridge to the accommodation tower, the adjoining four-story building houses Restaurant Blue, a chic fine dining restaurant, as well as the hotel’s conference center. With five flexible spaces and three boardrooms, Nordport Plaza, Hamburg-Airport can host functions for over 400 people. Six further business lounges are available in the main lobby for informal meetings. Landscaped gardens surround the property and open onto the neighbouring nature reserve.
Hotel guests and visitors also benefit from a 24-hour business centre, free Wi-Fi and generous on-site parking facilities.
The hotel’s stylish meetings, events and dining capabilities will be equally popular with travellers and nearby companies alike. The Nordport Plaza, Hamburg-Airport is also located within easy reach of landmarks, such Kunsthalle, Deichtorhallen and the Elbphilharmonie.
