The FINANCIAL — Vasyl Tsushko, minister of economy, is calling on social benefits monetization.
He has said this at an online-conference at Arhumenty&Fakty.
"When everyone pays, we will get rid of the economy of distorting mirrors. All know that statutory exemptions for 300 billion hryvnia are not feasible. We have to provide monetization of benefits to cash them out. Conventionally, all receive benefits, but this is delusion. All know that medical care in Ukraine is fee-for-service although under the Constitution it shall be free of charge," the minister of economy said.
He reminded about the Cabinet of Ministers' decision of July 14 to increase subsidies for population on housing and utilities service. But not all people who need them have applied for government aid so far, the minister added.
"Western regions arrange 100% of the required subsidies, the rest 60-70%," the minister noted.
He urged the public not to listen to criticism against the government decision of July 14, but go and get the required subsidies.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy expects that 1.5 million families will receive subsidies on housing and utilities services.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed a decision to increase subsidies for population on housing and utility services on July 14. Former Prime Minister Yurii Yekhanurov in March also said about social benefits monetization.
