The FINANCIAL — Turkish telecommunications giant Türk Telekom has been named Turkey's most valuable trademark in a list jointly compiled by independent brand-valuation consultancy Brand Finance and Capital magazine.
"The research was conducted to gauge how brands are holding up in the economic downturn due to an ongoing global financial crisis and determined Türk Telekom to be the most valuable brand of 2009 in Turkey. Türk Telekom was considered in the research, which has been conducted since 2006, for the first time this year," Today's Zaman says.
Commenting on the results, Türk Telekom CEO Paul Doany said on Sunday their company placed heavy emphasis on technology infrastructure investment with long-term projects. “Türk Telekom, as a company aware of its responsibilities for society, is committed to enhancing its brand value with new investments that will also contribute to the improvement of the telecommunications sector,” he said.
