The FINANCIAL — The Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze attended the reception held on the occasion of the arrival of the American vessel USS Oak Hill in Georgia’s eastern coastal city of Batumi.
Speaking before the audience, Mikheil Janelidze focused his attention on the Georgia-U.S. strategic partnership saying that the arrival of the Oak Hill in the Black Sea port demonstrates the shared commitment between the United States and Georgia to promote safety and stability within the region.
Commander Philip Knight, the Commanding Officer of the USS Oak Hill, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly and Georgian Defence Minister Levan Izoria also delivered their remarks at the reception evening.
The reception was attended by representatives of the local government, foreign diplomats, crew members and other invited guests, according to MFA of Georgia.
USS Oak Hill entered the Batumi port on 17 March and is due to leave the city on 20 March.
