The FINANCIAL — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on September 14 announced the promotion of Geoff O’Hara to vice president of Regional Affairs. In this role, O’Hara will lead the Chamber’s seven regional offices in developing strategy and working to utilize resources in support of its public policy goals.
“During Geoff’s 14 year career with the Chamber, he has distinguished himself through hard work, his leadership abilities, and a dedication to advancing free enterprise,” said Jack Howard, senior vice president of Congressional and Public Affairs as the U.S. Chamber. “In this new role he will use those skills to continue to strengthen the Chamber’s lobbying, political and grassroots programs.”
O’Hara previously served as the executive director of the Chamber’s Eastern Regional Office where he was responsible for the legislative and political grassroots strategy in West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining the Chamber, O’Hara was vice president of government and public affairs for the National Association of Chemical Distributors where he oversaw all facets of the association’s legislative, regulatory, international affairs, and communications strategy. He also previously served as legislative assistant to former Congressman Ronald K. Machtley (R-RI) where he covered transportation and environmental issues.
