The FINANCIAL — According to Civil Georgia, Daniel Fried, the U.S. assistant secretary of state, met with a group of lawmakers from the parliamentary minority on October 20 before meeting with the leaders of those opposition parties, which have no representation in the Parliament.
“Democratic processes were discussed, but mainly we talked about the Russia-Georgia relations and issues related with the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity,” MP Gia Tortladze told journalists after the meeting.
MP Giorgi Targamadze, the leader of the parliamentary minority, said that the U.S. assistance was important for Georgia in two directions – security and democracy development.
