The FINANCIAL — First-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits rose more than expected in the week ended December 5th, according to a report released by the Labor Department on December 10, according to Nasdaq.
The report said initial jobless claims climbed to 282,000, an increase of 13,000 from the previous week’s unrevised level of 269,000. Economists had expected jobless claims to inch up to 270,000.
