The FINANCIAL — On May 26 Nikolai Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, noted that the lack of technical equipment and poor quality of existing agricultural machinery are one of the main problems of agricultural commodities production.
The Minister said that due to the mentioned reasons Ukraine annually loses 6 mln tonnes of grains: 2 mln tonnes during the sowing season and 4 mln tonnes – during the harvesting campaign.
At the same time, N.Prysiazhnyuk noted that improvement of technical equipment status will not only reduce the costs but also improve the gross production.
The Minister stressed that he considers the optimization of technical equipment as one of the key tasks of the Ukrainian agriculture.
The Minister also highlighted the staffing issue among the key problems of Ukrainian agriculture, he sees the reform of the agricultural science as the solution of the issue. N.Prysiazhnyuk noted that stimulation of development of the agricultural science is not only the task of the Government but also the concern of all participants of the grain market.
