The FINANCIAL — Corn and soybeans form over one half of the general exports of grains and oilseeds from Ukraine. The export article of corn total supply reaches nearly 60%, and the soybean exports – 55% of the total supply, declared Anna Burka, oilseed analyst of APK-Inform Agency, during her report “Corn & soybeans: preferences of agrarians” within the international conference “Grain Forum & Maritime Days -2015” on May 28.
In 2014/15 MY the export potential of Ukrainian corn is estimated at 19 mln tonnes, down 4% compared with the index in the previous MY. In October-April period of 2014/15 MY, Ukraine exported 14 mln tonnes of corn, against 17.5 mln tonnes in the same period last season, said the expert.
According to her, in the current season the export potential of Ukrainian soybeans may rise to the record level of 2.3 mln tonnes.
Since beginning of the current season, almost every month the export volumes of soybeans reached record levels. As a result, in September-April of 2014/15 MY Ukraine supplied 1.94 mln tonnes of soybeans on foreign markets, whereas previously the general exports of the oilseed per season usually did not exceed 1.34 mln tonnes, stressed A.Burka.
