The FINANCIAL — In January of 2010, agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 11.8 thsd tonnes of grains, a decrease of 48.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the Main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
According to the announcement, wheat sale volumes lowered by 66.5% compared to the previous year index – to the level of 5.2 thsd tonnes, barley – down 3.2% to 4.6 thsd tonnes, maize – down 85.8% to 55 tonnes. Besides, the region sold 64 tonnes of sunflower seed.
In January 2010, the average price of grains, offered by the Crimean enterprises, dealing with grain storing and processing, to agricultural commodity producers, totaled 1019.8 UAH/t, including wheat – 1021.4 UAH/t as opposed to 1181.8 UAH/t and 968.8 UAH/t in January 2009, respectively.
