The FINANCIAL — Ukraine completely filled the quotas for duty-free exports of wheat to the European Union within frames of the current free trade zone, declared the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Trade Representative of Ukraine, Nataliya Mykolska.
According to her, on June 2 the Official Journal of the European Union promulgated the Commission Implementing Regulation 2016/876, which imposed the import tariff quotas for certain cereals originating in Ukraine. It means that Ukraine already covered the quantity of the annual quota with order at 950 thsd tonnes of wheat within frames of the free trade zone.
At the same time, N.Mykolska stressed that Ukraine will continue shipping wheat to the EU within frames of the global EU quotas for grains, and without the quotas, according to APK-Inform.
In the current MY, Ukraine became the largest country-importer of wheat to the EU. Ukraine already supplied 1.637 mln tonnes of the grain to European countries, or 49% of the general imports to the EU. The reporting indicator advanced the joint results of the USA, Canada and Russia, added the official.
