Ukraine harvested over 42 mln tonnes of grains

The FINANCIAL — As of October 1, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 42.298 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 11.468 mln ha, or 78% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.69 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.

In particular, Ukraine harvested corn grain throughout 1.003 mln ha (24%), the produced volumes reached 4.658 mln tonnes, with the yield of 4.64 t/ha, according to APK-Inform.

Ukrainian agrarians harvested buckwheat throughout 111 thsd ha (84%). The production volumes totaled 130 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.17 t/ha. Also, agrarians harvested 201 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 100 thsd ha (93%), with the yield of 2 t/ha.

Also, agrarians continued providing the mass harvesting campaign of sunflower seed. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 7.692 mln tonnes of the oilseed throughout 3.718 mln ha (75%). The average yield totaled 2.07 t/ha.

Ukraine already produced 1.949 mln tonnes of soybeans. The harvested areas reached 1.13 mln ha (53%), with the yield of 1.72 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, agricultural producers planted winter grains throughout 3.715 mln ha (50%), including 3.496 mln ha of winter wheat and triticale, 109 thsd ha of winter rye, 136 thsd ha of winter barley. In addition, agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 568 thsd ha (69%).
