The FINANCIAL — Ukraine has high potential for development of its agricultural sector and increasing the general grain harvest by 8-9 mln tonnes, declared the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Kutovyi on September 8.
To date, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Kiev oblasts are the leaders in grain yield indices, while the average yield in the country totals 3.9 t/ha. If Ukraine increases the average yield by nearly 20%, the general grain harvest will grow by 8-9 mln tonnes, the Minister said.
As a reminder, in the current year the general grain harvest in Ukraine will reach 63.5 mln tonnes, according to APK-Inform.
