The FINANCIAL — Ukraine hopes to sign agreements on liberalization of visa regime with 14 countries during 2011, Andrii Olefirov, director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine told the press.
The appropriate projects are being worked out, he added. Amongst the mentioned countries are Argentina, Brunei, Indonesia, Iceland, Kuwait, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, the Republic of South Africa, Serbia, Singapore, Uruguay, Croatia and Switzerland.
Besides, Ukraine expects to arrange an agreement on liberalization of visa regime with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tunisia in late 2010 – early 2011. The said agreements envisage either abolition of visa regime for all citizens, or its abolition for certain categories of citizens, or abolition of consular fee, according to Olefirov.
As Ukrainian News reported, Ukraine and the European Union on November 22, 2010 approved a plan of actions Ukraine should fulfill to be allowed short-term visa-free travels for its citizens.
Great Britain will likely enter into negotiations with Ukraine by late 2010 to simplify visa regime.
