The FINANCIAL — According to the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, in the period of January 1 – May 11, 2015, four largest ports of Ukraine provided 89% of the export grain transshipment volumes, and continued increasing the grain shipment rates, declared Andrii Kupchenko, grain analyst at APK-Inform Agency, on May 29 during his report “Port shipment of grain cargoes in Ukraine: volumes, directions, and technical maintenance”, within the fourteenth international conference “Grain Forum & Maritime days in Odessa -2015”.
The expert noted that the port Yuzhny became the leader in terms of grain transshipment volumes, and exported more than 2.9 mln tonnes of grain cargoes in the reporting period (up 0.3%, compared with the same period last season), according to APK Inform.
Also, A.Kupchenko informed that in the reporting period, the Odessa port showed the most significant growing at the level of 18%, which reached more than 2.6 mln tonnes of grain cargoes, against 2.3 mln tonnes in the previous year. In the Mykolayiv seaport, grain transshipment increased by 14% – to 2.5 mln tonnes, as opposed to 2.2 mln tonnes in the previous period, while in the Illichivsk port – up 5%, to 1.7 mln tonnes, against 1.6 mln tonnes. Bu the remaining sea ports, providing significant shipment volumes, reduced grain export supplies, added the speaker.
