The FINANCIAL — According to forecasts of the Association Ukroliyaprom, in 2016/17 MY Ukrainian enterprises will produce 5.37 mln tonnes of sunflower oil, an increase of 19% compared with the results of the current MY, while the exports will grow by 14% – to 4.8 mln tonnes, declared the press-service of the Association on July 8.
According to the announcement, in the first nine months of the current MY (September-May) Ukraine produced 3.8 mln tonnes of sunflower oil, and exported 3.4 mln tonnes of the product, or 57% of the global trade with sunflower oil.
Also, in the reporting period Ukraine significantly increased its exports to the European Union countries. The share of Ukrainian sunflower oil exports to the EU rose to 30%, as opposed to 13-17% during several recent years, according to APK-Inform.
However, the Association estimated that the actual production of crude sunflower oil in the country exceeds the statistics data by more than 20%, due to significant volumes of the product exports in terms of the complete satisfaction of the domestic market, as well as significant carry-over stocks of sunflower oil at the enterprises-producers. In addition, there are significant differences between the calculated and declared carry-over stocks of sunflower seed in the country.
