The FINANCIAL — According to the State Statistics Service, in July-April of 2014/15 MY large-scale enterprises of Ukraine produced 1.9 mln tonnes of wheat flour, a decrease of 13.2% compared with the same period of 2013/14 MY (2.2 mln tonnes).
The difficult economic situation in the country, as well as reduction of the domestic consumption of such commodity in terms of the declining population, became the major reasons for the fall of production volumes, according to APK Inform.
At the same time, the export volumes of flour somewhat increased. Thus, in the period of July-April of the current MY, Ukraine exported 210.5 thsd tonnes of wheat flour, which became the absolute record for the reporting period, and up 8% compared with the same period of 2013/14 MY (194.5 thsd tonnes), when Ukraine broke the previous record of the annual export volumes of flour at 228.2 thsd tonnes.
