The FINANCIAL — According to data of the customs statistics, in June exports volumes of sunflower oil from Ukraine reached the record monthly index and totaled 277 thsd tonnes, an increase of 18% compared to the export volumes in the last month, and also up 33% compared to June 2009 results.
India (58.100 tonnes), Spain (36.500 tonnes) and the Netherlands (25.700 tonnes) became the group of three only importers of sunflower oil from Ukraine.
The share of sunflower oil totaled 97% of the general export volumes. In June, exports volumes of vegetable oils reached the record monthly index and totaled 286 thsd tonnes, an increase of 16% compared to May 2010, and also an increase of 31% compared to exports volumes in June 2009.
At the same time, in June 2010, Ukraine imported 27.8 thsd tonnes of vegetable oils as opposed to 19.6 thsd tonnes in May 2010. In June 2009 import volumes of the products totaled 16.8 thsd tonnes. Palm oil (84% of the general supply volumes of vegetable oils) and coconut and palm kernel oil (11%)formed the base of the import structure. The percentage of other oils totaled 5%. In June Ukraine imported 75 tonnes (in May 2010 Ukraine imported 75 tonnes).
