The FINANCIAL — According to the official statistics data, in the first 7 months of 2015 Ukraine produced 3.7 thsd tonnes of baking mixtures, an increase of 11% compared with the production index for the whole of 2014 (3.3 thsd tonnes). The current tendencies on the market of flour milling commodities and the world demand for baking mixtures, caused the reporting trend development.
Within frames of presentation of Ukrainian flour milling products at the largest exhibition of food products in Asia – HKTDC Food Exhibition, held in August 2015 in Hong Kong, many visitors were quite surprised by the fact that the Ukrainian pastry examples at the presentation booth were made from pure flour instead of prepared baking mixtures. Therefore, the reporting direction is one of the most perspective for development of the domestic flour milling business, said Rodion Rybchinsky, Head of Business-Projects Division at APK-Inform, and Director of the association “Millers of Ukraine”.
Also, in 2014/15 MY the exports of baking mixtures from Ukraine totaled 1.3 thsd tonnes. At the same time, in the current season the market did not show any positive dynamics in the segment, and during 2 months of 2015/16 MY Ukraine exported 187 tonnes of the commodities only, down 24% compared with the same period of 2014/15 MY (247 tonnes), according to APK-Inform.
However, in terms of current activation of baking mixtures production by Ukrainian producers, in the future it is possible to increase its exports.
