The FINANCIAL — The infrastructure of Ukraine is not ready to double the volume of grain exports, declared Andriy Pyvovarsky, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, on April 28.
According to him, Ukraine has the unique geographical location, but it is not enough, because 90% of Ukrainian motor roads are in poor condition. Nearly 50% of railway lines require modernization, and rail cars turned old. The sea ports do not have the required number of terminals. Therefore, such infrastructure is not able to cope with doubling of grain exports, the Minister said.
A.Pyvovarsky added that there is the need to improve the control of goods weighting on the roads, and advance the establishment of concessional roads, according to APK-Inform.
In addition, the Minister said that opening of inland water ways of the Dnieper, Bug and Danube for goods transit is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
