The FINANCIAL — In 2016/17 MY, Ukraine will increase the total supply of buckwheat on the domestic market, which will lead to lowering of the grain prices, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on August 8, with reference to the results of the monitoring of food markets.
In 2016, the harvest volumes of buckwheat in Ukraine will reach 174.2 thsd tonnes, up 36% compared with last year. At the same time, in 2016/17 MY the domestic consumption of buckwheat is estimated at 150-160 thsd tonnes, according to the announcement, according to APK-Inform.
Also, the Ministry reported on activation of work of PJSC Agrarian Fund for formation of new crop buckwheat stocks. In the current year, the company plans to contract 10 thsd tonnes of the grain.
