The FINANCIAL — As of April 14, Ukrainian agrarians planted early spring grains throughout the areas of 2.25 mln ha, or 90% of the plan, an increase of 403 thsd ha compared with the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians planted spring barley throughout the areas of 1.682 mln ha (88%), peas — 214 thsd ha (111%), spring wheat — 153 thsd ha (88%), and oats — 201 thsd ha (92%).
Also, Ukraine planted sunflower seed throughout 1.134 mln ha (23%), and corn for grain – 498 thsd ha (11%). Agrarians of 18 oblasts of Ukraine planted soybeans throughout 67 thsd ha (3%).
At the same time, Ukraine provided additional fertilizing works of winter grain crops throughout 6.797 mln ha, or 98% of the forecast (in 2015 — 7.02 mln ha), winter rapeseed — 485.6 thsd ha, or 90% (732 thsd ha).
