The FINANCIAL — As of May 15, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 6.251 mln ha, or 89% of the plan, as opposed to 7.285 mln ha on the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, Ukrainian agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 3.888 mln ha (87%), according to APK-Inform.
Ukraine continued planting buckwheat, millet and rice. As of the reporting date, the planted areas of buckwheat reached 69 thsd ha (59%), millet – 54 thsd ha (55%), and rice – 10.7 thsd ha (94%).
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 3.86 mln ha, or 84% of the forecast, and soybeans – 1.584 mln ha (84%).
