The FINANCIAL — As of June 2, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 6.798 mln ha, or 99% of the plan, as opposed to 7.628 mln ha on the same date last year, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, Ukrainian agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 4.26 mln ha (98%), against 4.777 mln ha on the same date last year, according to APK Inform.
Ukraine continued planting buckwheat, millet and rice. As of the reporting date, the planted areas of buckwheat reached 117 thsd ha (92%), against 135 thsd ha; millet – 86 thsd ha (93%), against 93 thsd ha; and rice – 12 thsd ha (103%), against 10 thsd ha. Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 4.605 mln ha, or 100% of the forecast, against 4.468 mln ha; and soybeans – 1.933 mln ha (100%), against 1.649 mln ha.
