The FINANCIAL — The share of river cargo transportation in Ukraine should reach 25%, declared Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to APK Inform.
According to him, cargo logistics by the Dnieper River is a very important direction to date. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure continues developing the project, which would allow reaching the level of French infrastructure, where 25% of the general cargo transportation is made by the rivers. To date, Ukraine has less than 2%, said O.Pavlenko.
At the same time, Vladimir Shulmeister, First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, the current river cargo transportation in Ukraine decreased in 40 times, compared with the 1991 index – to 2 mln tonnes of cargoes per year.
