The FINANCIAL — In 2015, the planted areas under soybeans in Ukraine will total 1.836 mln ha, and by 2020, the index will increase to 2.12 mln ha, declared Viktor Timchenko, President of Ukrainian Association of Soybean Producers and Processors, during his presentation at the third conference “Ukrainian soybean market: prospects for development in 2015-2020” on April 27.
According to him, in 2020 the production of soybeans in Ukraine will reach 4.7 mln tonnes.
Also, V.Timchenko stressed that Ukraine expects for steady growing of the livestock of cattle, pigs and poultry, but it is quite difficult to forecast the demand for livestock products within the free trade zone with the EU. The prime cost of livestock products in Europe is lower compared with Ukraine, and the Ukrainina commodities are not competitive, therefore Ukraine has to introduce soybean components for feeding of animals and poultry, said V.Timchenko.
