Ukraine: sprouts of winter crops grew throughout 5.8 mln ha

The FINANCIAL — As of December 11, sprouts of winter crops in Ukraine appeared throughout the areas of 5.8 mln ha, or 86% of the planted areas, informed the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on December 4.

According to the announcement, as of the reporting date 67% of the sprouted areas were in good and satisfactory condition (3.85 mln ha), and 33% – in poor and thinned condition (1.93 mln ha). The losses totaled 80 thsd ha.

At the same time, the sprouts of winter crops still did not appear throughout 14% of the areas (955 thsd ha) mainly in Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava and Kharkiv oblasts.

In addition, the sprouts of winter rapeseed appeared throughout 570.8 thsd ha (88%), including 67.5% of the areas in good and satisfactory condition, 32% – in weak and thinned condition, and 0.5% – losses, according to APL-Inform.
