The FINANCIAL — As of February 11, sprouts of winter grains in Ukraine appeared throughout the areas of 6.3 mln ha, or 89% of the planted areas (7.1 mln ha), informed the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on February 15.
According to the announcement, as of the reporting date 67% of the sprouted areas were in good and satisfactory condition (4.2 mln ha), and 33% – in poor and thinned condition (2.1 mln ha). The losses totaled 80 thsd ha.
In addition, the sprouts of winter rapeseed appeared throughout 582 thsd ha (89%), including 384.1 thsd ha in good and satisfactory condition (66%), 192.8 thsd ha in weak and thinned condition (33.1%), and 5.1 thsd ha of losses (0.9%).
11 oblasts had quite favorable weather conditions for additional fertilizing of winter grains. Agrarians already provided such field works throughout 242.6 thsd ha, or 4% of the forecast, winter rapeseed – 48.1 thsd ha (8%).
