The FINANCIAL — In some raions of southern oblasts of Ukraine, agrarians started the harvesting works of early grains and pulses.
As of June 12, agrarians harvested 14.7 thsd tonnes of grains throughout the areas of 5.1 thsd ha. The average yield totaled 2.91 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to APK Inform, in 2018, agrarians began harvesting grains earlier than the average terms for several recent years, but the current season was quite atypical all along. The officials will not provide the relevant yield forecasts awhile away from now. But the current crop conditions and almost perfect overwintering period for winter crops allowed to the Ministry to keep the harvest forecast at the level of 60 mln tonnes and more, said the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, Maksym Martynyuk.
In particular, agrarians of Mykolaiv, Odessa and Kherson oblasts already started the harvesting campaign of grains and pulses (winter barley and peas). As a reminder, the planned harvested areas under early grains and pulses total nearly 9.6 mln ha.
