The FINANCIAL — The state operator should work on the market of grains of Ukraine, declared Viktor Slauta, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
According to the Vice Prime Minister, various private companies, operating on the market of grains to date, provide unfavorable prices to agricultural producers. And farmers have no other purchasers of grains, except of private traders. They are almost forced to sell own grains to exporters at rather low prices. That is why, the government plans to found the state grain trader as the alternate company, which will purchase and export grains from Ukraine. The company will be founded in the nearest future, explained V.Slauta.
According to him, the state grain trader should have the possibility to purchase nearly 2 mln tonnes of grains on the domestic market, in order to provide export operations. Such business actions will allow providing the favorable grain price level for farmers.
The government plans to found such state company on the basis of the state joint stock company Khleb Ukrainy, which owns several dozens of elevators and the port grain terminal in Odessa.
