The FINANCIAL — Ukraine is interested in enlargement of the exports of grains, vegetable oils, livestock products (live cattle, raw materials and products of animal origin), sugar and confectionery products to Iran, declared the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Yaroslav Krasnopolskiy on March 17.
In 2013, the share of agricultural products in the general structure of Ukrainian exports to Iran totaled 66%, in 2014 – 84%, and in 2015 – more than 85%, he informed.
The Deputy Minister noted that in 2015, bilateral trading with agricultural products between Ukraine and Iran did not significantly changed. In 2015, the trade turnover totaled 455 mln USD, including the exports – 441 mln USD, the imports – 14 mln USD, according to APK-Inform.
Traditionally, the main categories of exports included oilseeds – 158 mln USD, vegetable oils – 151 mln USD, and grains – over 110 mln USD. But fruits, nuts and zest formed the major share of imports (13 mln USD), explained Ya.Krasnopolskiy.
According to him, Ukraine and Iran do not completely use their potential in the trading and economic sphere of agriculture, and plan to deepen cooperation.
