The FINANCIAL — Since the end of July 2015, Ukrainian companies will be able to realize duty-free exports of agricultural products to the USA. Ukraine as well as other countries-beneficiaries received such opportunities within frames of the US Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program, declared the press-service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine on July 2, according to APK Inform.
According to the announcement, Ukrainian companies will be able to supply more than 500 types of goods to the United States without customs duties, including wheat, barley, rice, triticale, corn flour, some groats, dairy and meat products. The program runs from July 29, 2015, to December 31, 2017.
Nut according to Natalia Nikolskaya, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, “to enjoy the benefit of duty-free regime in the United States under the GSP system, Ukraine has to demonstrate the effective protection of intellectual property rights and labour rights”. Also, the Ukrainian companies have to demonstrate the complete product eligibility.
In turn, the importers in the USA should also apply for preferences from the updated GSP program.
