TBILISI. A week ahead of the UN Day on 24 October, the United Nations Office in Georgia is organising a series of events to draw public attention to some key areas of UN work.
The focus of the UN Week this year is the progress of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Georgia and the role of youth in the development of the country.
In the coming days, the UN Office will organise seminars for university students in Tbilisi, Batumi, Gori and Kutaisi; the model UN conference for students to stir discussion on MDGs and peace and security; round table discussion with the editors of key Georgian media; informal sessions for journalists; and visits to the UN programme sites.
