The FINANCIAL — UPS announced on March 30 that the UPS Shenzhen Hub has been designated as an Advanced Certified Enterprise (ACE) by the General Administration of China Customs (GACC). UPS is the only international express company in Shenzhen to be granted with the ACE status, the highest standard awarded under the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) scheme. This underlines UPS’s commitment to trade compliance and supply chain security.
The ACE grading recognizes UPS as a reputable and secure logistics service provider with a solid compliance and regulatory history, and allows UPS to enjoy faster customs clearance procedures. As a result, UPS customers can benefit from lower customs inspection rates for exporting and importing goods, prioritized customs clearance, faster release and simplified paperless documentation. Customers can also have to access 24-hour customs clearance services and round-the-clock connectivity to Hong Kong Customs, to ensure seamless and efficient exporting of goods, according to UPS.
“At UPS, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our services to better serve our customers. The ACE accreditation enhances UPS’s ability to help our customers export and import internationally shipped goods in the most efficient way,” said Richard Loi, President for UPS in China. “This is especially important as the UPS Shenzhen Hub serves as a key gateway connecting all major points in Asia. As intra-Asia trade lanes continue to expand, the ability to provide customers with faster customs processing and movement of goods is key to remaining competitive.”
The UPS Shenzhen Hub received its ACE status in November 2015, following a reclassification of China’s Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) system to align with the World Customs Organization’s SAFE Framework to secure and facilitate global trade. It is a recognition of UPS’s status as a reliable and secure transport operator with a solid compliance track record.
In Asia, UPS has been awarded AEO certifications in Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore, and will continue to enhance cross-border capabilities throughout the region.
