The FINANCIAL — US Airways Group announced March and year-to-date 2012 traffic results. Mainline revenue passenger miles for the month were 5.3 billion, up 4.8 percent versus March 2011.
Mainline capacity was 6.3 billion available seat miles, up 3.3 percent versus March 2011. Mainline passenger load factor was a record 84.6 percent for the month of March, up 1.2 points versus March 2011.US Airways’ President Scott Kirby said, “Our March consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile increased approximately 8 percent versus the same period last year. I would like to thank our 32,000 employees for continuing to run an outstanding operation. Our team delivered not only our best March operational performance in the history of our Company, but our best first quarter ever, which included seven days with zero mainline cancellations.”
According to US Airways, for the month of March, US Airways' preliminary on-time performance as reported to the U.S. Department of Transportation was a record 87.3 percent with a completion factor of 99.4 percent.
