The FINANCIAL — On September 3, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Nicholas Berliner and Maj. Gen. John P. Horner of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the Batumi Boat Basin.
The new basin, constructed with $14 million in funding by the US government, provides docking space for up to 15 vessels and will make the base of the Batumi Georgian Coast Guard an important operational center, according to Embassy of the United States Georgia.
The boat basin and the strengthening of Georgia’s border and regional security capacities highlight one more aspect of the vibrant US-Georgia security partnership.
