The FINANCIAL — On September 17, Public Affairs Officer Courtney Austrian joined Prime Minister Garibashvili and Education Minister Sanikidze in launching the San Diego State University-Georgia program.
Thanks to funding from the Millennium Challenge Corporation in the United States, 85 Georgian students are beginning a four year education program in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that will give them a U.S. bachelor’s degree upon completion and provide them with a U.S. university education, Embassy of the United States Georgia said.
This is the first ever program of its kind in Georgia, and symbolizes the close cooperation that exists between the U.S. and Georgian governments and both countries’ academic communities. The universities taking part in the trailblazing program are San Diego State University, Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, and the Georgian Technical University.
