The FINANCIAL — As part of the 22nd General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Georgian Vice Premier, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organisation of Iran, Ali Asghar Mounesan.
The sides welcomed the increasing dynamics of co-operation between the two countries in various fields including in culture, people-to-people contacts and tourism, according to MFA of Georgia.
The Iranian Vice President underlined Iran’s interest in Georgia’s tourist potential. According to him, Georgia is one of the key tourist destinations for Iran. Mikheil Janelidze brought to the attention of Ali Asghar Mounesan the reforms implemented in Georgia’s tourism sector and the impressive statistics pointing to the rising level of interest in Georgia as a tourist destination.
The Georgian Vice Premier also spoke about the important agreements reached during Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili’s visit to Iran, which contribute to the development of trade-economic ties between the two countries.
