The FINANCIAL — Wells Fargo Securities’ (WFS) Global Research, Economics & Strategy division announced on April 24 that Christopher Harvey has been appointed the new head of Equity Strategy, reporting to Todd M. Wickwire and Sam Pearlstein, co-heads of Equity Research.
Harvey will be responsible for establishing Wells Fargo Securities’ equity market outlook, including the S&P 500 index price target and earnings forecast, as well as sector weightings and recommendations, for institutional and corporate clients. Additionally, he will collaborate with the team’s fixed income and FX strategists as well as our macroeconomics team to develop and market actionable investment ideas to the firm’s clients, according to Wells Fargo.
“Chris has already proven himself to be a valuable asset to our clients in his prior role in the WFS Equity Sales & Trading group,” said Diane Schumaker-Krieg, global head of Research, Economics and Strategy at Wells Fargo. “Now coupled with the breadth and depth of our research platform and sector analysts, Chris is positioned to bring another level of expertise to the firm’s key US and global institutional clients.”
Harvey joined Wells Fargo in 2013 as director of Disciplined Portfolio Strategies within Wells Fargo Securities’ Equity Sales & Trading group. He has held other strategist positions at State Street, Munich Re/MEAG and Weeden during his 20 year career as a macro and quantitative strategist. Harvey received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from New York University.
