The FINANCIAL — Wells Fargo Securities, the capital markets and investment banking business of Wells Fargo & Company on April 20 announced that Vipul Jain has joined the Research and Economics department as managing director and head of Residential Mortgage Research.
Based out of offices in New York and Charlotte, NC, Jain will lead the Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) research team in developing strategy, publishing research and generating investment ideas for institutional investors. Jain reports to Marielle Jan de Beur, head of Structured Products Research for Wells Fargo Securities, according to Wells Fargo.

His experience includes more than a decade of leadership in sell-side research,” said Diane Schumaker-Krieg, global head of Research, Economics & Strategy for Wells Fargo Securities. “We look forward to him partnering with colleagues in Research and Sales & Trading to provide actionable investment ideas to our clients.”
Jain joined Wells Fargo Securities from Morgan Stanley, where he was Head of Agency RMBS Research. His previous sell-side research experience includes coverage of Agency and Non-Agency RMBS at both Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In 2015, Jain was ranked #2 in Prepayments and #3 in Agency MBS Strategy in Institutional Investor’s Fixed Income All America Research Survey. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
